Airport Meet and Greet

All participants booked through the official website of APAA 2018 are eligible to get complimentary shared airport transfers.

All international flights arrive at Terminal 3 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. APAA 2018 help desk will be located near exits 5 & 6. The desk will be operational from 00:01 hours on November 17 to 23:59 hours on November 18, 2018.

Participants arriving during this time are requested to approach the help desk, from where official staff will facilitate their transfers. Please look out for our personnel who will be wearing blue APAA T-shirts. Those arriving outside these timings will be met outside the airport by staff holding placards with the APAA logo and their hotel name.

Participants arriving at Domestic Terminals 1 & 2 will be met and transferred to the official meeting hotels by official staff holding placards with the APAA logo and the name of the hotel. However, there will be no help desk at these two terminals.

We request you to enter your respective flight details by logging into the command panel (https://payments.kwconferences.com/eventsair/apaa2018/) for us to make preparations accordingly.

Climate

The weather in Delhi during November is generally pleasant, with daytime temperatures reaching a high of around 27 degrees Celsius. Evenings can be cool with temperatures dropping to 13 degrees Celsius. No rain is expected at this time. Light woollen jackets/ wraps will come in handy.

Currency/Banking/Credit Cards

Indian Rupee is the currency of India. It is in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 2000.

Please be advised that effective November 2016, new currency notes for Rs.500 and Rs.1000 were introduced to replace the earlier currency notes of those denominations. If you have still with you any notes of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 from your visits prior to November 2016, please do not bring those with you.

Foreign currency can be converted to Indian Rupees at the airport and at the official meeting hotels. Traveller’s cheques may not be accepted at all banks and hotels.

Banking hours are usually 1000 -1600 hrs, Monday to Friday. Automatic Teller Machines are well spread throughout the city. Major international credit cards are accepted at most stores, restaurants, and hotels.

Mobile App and Additional Information

There will be a meeting mobile APP which will contain useful information for the meeting including name, firm name and country of each attendee. There is an option for sharing your email address and if you wish to share that additional information,  please tick the appropriate box on the App.

The voltage in India is 230 volts, and plugs have two or three pins as shown below.

Goods and Services Tax

Goods and Services in India are subject to the newly introduced Goods and Services Tax (GST). For most retail items, this tax is usually included in the price. If not, then it will be stated as such and GST amount will be stated. GST is not refundable when leaving the country.

Health

A valid yellow-fever certificate is mandatory for all individuals who arrive in India within 6 days of departure/transit from a yellow fever endemic area. The certificate becomes valid 10 days after vaccination

Consumption of Food and Water

We recommend that you drink only packaged water (make sure the cap seal is intact when you receive it). Street food & beverages are not recommended.

Insurance

It is strongly recommended that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover the duration of your visit to India and to protect against cancellation charges, loss or damage to your luggage and personal effects, loss of cash and medical expenses, including evacuation.

Local Transport

Taxis are on call round-the-clock in the National Capital Region. Air-conditioned Radio Taxis can be called. The App-based Ola and Uber Cab services are also readily available.

Most hotels have taxi ranks and the front desk at your hotel will arrange this service for you.

Delhi’s Metro Rail network has five regular lines (Red, Yellow, Blue, Green and Violet) plus the Airport Express line (Orange). The Airport Express runs between Delhi’s international airport and New Delhi main railway station in the heart of the city. The Airport Express has a station at Aeorcity – within a short walk from the official meeting hotels. Commuting time from Aerocity to the New Delhi railway station is 20 minutes.

Please be advised that security checks at the Metro stations are fairly strict. The security staff will check the bags and passengers will be body scanned before entering the metro station.

Name Badge

Each participant will be given, at the time of registration at the meeting venue,  a name  badge.  Please wear your badge at all times at the meeting venue and at all official events (including excursions and social functions).

Every effort will be made to ensure that participants with special dietary or other needs are looked after. Should your require any special assistance or catering, please indicate the details on the registration form
