Monday, November 19

Cooking Class with Henna Painting and Saree Tying:

This is an interactive culinary experience with Saffron Palate, a dedicated team of three Indian cuisine specialists. The setting is in an Indian home, where you will learn to prepare Indian food in a hands-on cooking class, followed by a meal. Participants can try their hand at the recipes shared by the chef, and also get to enjoy what they have cooked. The experience also includes henna painting and a saree draping session.

Mehrauli Archaeological Park:

The park is an archaeological area spread over 200 acres. A great venue for history buffs and those interested in architecture. This is the only area in Delhi which has historical remnants evidencing 1,000 continuous years of foreign influence and occupation. The architecture here showcases the beginning and rise of the influences of Islam on Hindu architecture. Lunch follows at the Olive Bar & Kitchen, one of the premium restaurants of Delhi.

Visit an organic farm in a rural setting and learn about healthy and ethical farming techniques without reliance on chemicals. This program will give you a glimpse of rural India with tractor and camel rides included. Learn how to milk a cow and end the visit with a fresh healthy meal prepared especially for you.

Akshardham Temple & Lodhi Garden:

Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi epitomizes 10,000 years of Indian culture, and showcases the essence of India’s ancient architecture, traditions and timeless spiritual messages. The main attraction of the complex is the Akshardham Mandir (temple), featuring the Gajendra pith, a plinth paying tribute to the elephant for its importance in Hindu culture. Our next stop is the Lodhi Garden – acres of beautiful gardens dotted with monuments going back six centuries. Following lunch at the Chor Bizarre.

Madame Tussaud’s Museum Visit:

Millions of people have flocked through the doors of Madame Tussauds since they first opened over 250 years ago and it remains just as popular as it ever was. This world famous wax museum opened its 23rd franchise in Delhi in December 2017. Get a chance to rub shoulders with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachhan, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and many other Indian and international celebrities. The museum visit will be followed by lunch at Perch restaurant, where you can experience a contemporary interpretation of classic Indian cooking.

The style of dancing in early Bollywood films was based on Indian classical dance with strong folk influences. Over the years Bollywood movies have developed their own signature style of song and dance which has become famous all across the globe. This program takes you to a dance studio where you can learn some of the popular Bollywood dance steps. Spend the morning moving and shaking to popular Bollywood music, and end your experience with a hearty meal at the Perch restaurant.
